Created by Juliu Horvath in 1980, the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is a unique, holistic approach to movement. Originally called “Yoga for Dancers”, the GYROKINESIS® Method was born from Horvath’s insightful six-year yoga and meditation practice after rupturing his achilles tendon during his time in Huston Ballet. While primarily teaching this new method to professional dancers, Juliu began developing the GYROTONIC® Method in St. Thomas.
Some of the benefits of a regular GYROTONIC® practice include a healthier, more supple spine, increased range of motion, greater joint stability, improved agility, athletic performance, and a deep internal strength.
The GYROTONIC® method has been a support system for my mind and spirit, as well as my ever changing body. Since honing in on the method, I’ve found clarity and balance in my nervous system, and have found a greater appreciation for the choice to expand. Alongside having a beautiful awakening, I’ve been able to learn about human anatomy through the lens of finding harmony in the body. It’s always exciting to learn something new about the internal systems through GYROTONIC®!

Rates
This ever-changing sliding scale is inspired by bimbom.space, run by Amanda Maraist + Michael Macdonald. A community-centric artist hub that believes space is not a luxury but a necessity.
These rates are for private and duet sessions (both individuals paying their own fee in their respected pay range). If you’re signing up for a duet, please have both individuals submit an inquiry form, and add in the note who you’re sharing session with.
Due to studio rentals, all sessions booked are charged a $20 studio fee.
$10-$40
For the folks who are looking for a somatic practice that doesn’t break the bank. I will always encourage folks to do what’s best for their wallet and their bodies!
$40-$60
This range is the standard rate. That doesn’t mean much other than it’s similar to other studio rates.
$60- $80
For the folks who have the means to show their community support monetarily.
$80-$++
Similar to the range above, this is for the folks who are able to show their support financially. This range can also be considered to be the “pay- it- forward” rate.
If you want to talk more about budget, negotiations, accessibility, purpose, intention, and more, please don’t hesitate to ASK! No individual is turned down due to their financial status.
A percentage of the agreed upon rate will be charged as a cancellation fee. The full-rate will be charged if cancelled within 24 hours prior to the session.
